I'm experimenting with Presets and confusing myself!
I think I read that if I make a preset for a ML and use it to set a ML in a later cue, make changes to the focus and update the cue, I will in effect change the focus data in that preset which will become apparent should I use it in a later cue.
I set up an experiment: A ML was focused on a spot DSL and preset 1 recorded.
Preset 1 was used to point the ML and cue 1 recorded.
Cue 1 was copied to cues 2 and 3.
Cue 2 was run but this time the ML was selected, the focus changed to DSL and the cue updated. If my original understanding was correct the focus data in preset 1 should now have been changed. Correct?
But when I goto cue 3 (copied from 1 hence using preset 1) the ML went to the original focus position. Is it because when I updated the side panel had [Absolute] highlighted?
How could I demonstrate as, simply as possible, this business of updating after using a preset to change the preset for future use or is my basic understanding completely wrong?
