Console Training

Hello Gang

So we just purchased an Ion console package, and there seems to be some confusion as to the amount of hours, of on-site training.....   It doesn't really matter, since we have the dvd's and such...  But ETC might need to notify their dealers for uniformity purposes, if they decided to change things.....   < for the record, we are a school, and we bought the console thru one vendor, and the field service tech is local.. >

Thanks, -Bob

  • On-Site Training - LOL - the On-Site Training I set thru was a JOKE.  As the technician answered 99% of our questions...  with "ummm... i'm not sure I haven't ever tried that on the board.. let me look in the manual.. or actually you can look that up later." - - - Leaving two of us with a bunch of questions.. a manual that is difficult to understand and 28 inteligent lights to operate.    As a former Express users we were able to pick up on standard terminology very easy.. just a few bumps of remembering where the buttons were (PATCH is one for example) is the on that has become easier.  Our major quesions ended up with the DMX gateways (which he was suppose to train us.. but magically disappeared after lunch) and the inteligent lights and their functions from the board...  But the tech that did the onsite training that I sit thru was not able to run the board himself.. and he was the professional.

  • Hi Guys,

My name is Dan Boggess.  I run the Field Service operations for ETC in the United States and I think I can probably help with these issues.  First of all I apologize for any confusion in how we provide training and to wlawson:  I'm  particularly sorry for the unsatisfactory training you received.  If you both would contact me directly this week, or send me your contact information, we can discuss the issues and find a way to make this right.

    Sincerely,

    Dan Boggess
