Making Custom Magic Sheet Symbols

I understand how a support article about Inkscape doesn't help you in Illustrator.

The Eos manual has a list of the available layer names here.

Unfortunately that hasn't helped, I am familiar with the naming configurations I just don't understand how to set up my layers I've pretty much tried everything under the sun from multiple layers with grouped paths to 1 layer with grouped paths, multiple layers no group, and more. Yes they produce a symbols but not a working one that is able to change its colour in software so my question which i can't find find documentation on anywhere is how do I set up these layers so that it works.

This is probably an Illustrator problem: while you seem to have entered the layer names correctly, this is what ends up in the file:

etc_x5F_symbol_x5F_base_1_

Maybe this link can help you, otherwise you'll probably have to manually edit your svg after you're done in Illustrator (which would be quite simple, since svg uses simple xml formatting)
