Odd Message on Boot

Hello,

Our building is running an Ion that was recently upgraded to 1.8.2. Sometime after the upgrade, I noticed a message that showed up when the console would turn on. The message seems to be a BIOS message. It reads "Media Test Failure, Check Cable". Then says something else about an Intel bootloader (I think).

The console does boot up perfectly fine, and shows are saving correctly, etc. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this sort of message at bootup. It seems to have occurred after the upgrade, but I can't be 100% sure.

Sounds like the console is attempting to test for the presence of a valid Ethernet link (Media), and failing, but i'm sure someone from tech services will be along soon to confirm :-)

That is correct. We are aware that some consoles in the field may see this error. It is harmless; However, the console will take a few more moments to boot. There is a simple fix for this and if you call us in Tech Service we can walk you though it.
