Hello,
I need to make our Ion fade mac500s and 250s from a static colour into a colour roll that does not include white. From my strand background this would always have been a "FORCE it to" type of situation.
Sofar an absolute effect looks like it could be forced to work but only with lots of timing tweeks to allow the start point (cue time) to be met at the same time as the effect wants to start for the colour at the other step.
A linear effect seemed like the way to go but this got hard! Is there somewhere a more in depth decription of effects settings like "scale" and how "colour select" talks to the dmx address in this situation?
Trying things seems to suggest the effect is either trying to get the light far out of it's capabilities (stuck on too much or none for lots of the step) or less than full range. I've had to go to 10.3 type settings for scale which makes me think I'm doing this wrong - 10.4 was too much, 10.2 only went half way into the last colour. The roll of the colour wheel is not very smooth either.
Thanks for reading my long question, thanks for any advise.
