Question for those who don't want context (see below) - If we use a network port as a point to point into our desk and the desk other port is tied into our structure - does this allow companies onto our LX network?
So we don't allow people onto our network for variety of reasons.
Staff today suggested we use a secondary port in control room as a point to point for their data rack & then we use our main port that link into our structure as usual.
I suggested we used two nodes to mitigate this issue and link back into structure.
The nodes allow us to basically make sure there is no IP clash and their protocols mean people can't access other vital parts of our LX network structure.
I feel like if we use second port as point to point and the main port ties into our LX network without a gateway they do have access to our structure.
