Networking for Mirror Mode 1.9 Mac

Hi,

I am having trouble using Mirror Mode with my Mac (Intel 10.5.8 )and my PC (XP). I just recently updated the Client Software and the Console Software to 1.9. I feel like I'm missing a step in the whole networking part. I've booted up the Program on my Computers both PC and Mac and I've connected a Ethernet Cable from the Ion to the Mac and PC. In both cases I get my Client software saying "Waiting for Master. One moment please..." with no hope of connecting. So I looked at the Network settings in both the Client and the Ion shells and they both seem to correspond. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that it isn't as simple as that. Can some one walk me through the process of getting mirror mode to work so our LBO and our LD can work together with ease?

Not the best solution, but,

Are you booting the desk up in Primary and the Client in Client?

When you the 'waiting for master' message, wait about 10-15 sec and then click on troubleshoot and see if it appears in the list on the right of the CIA.

How do you mean "the network settings for the client and ion seem to correspond"

Important here is that the IPs of the ion and client are in the same range.

ie. Ion IP: 10.101.100.101

Client IP: 10.101.1.101

is yours like that?

hey thanks guys,

The first 10 times I tried it had my firewall up and when I took it down I let the screen "waiting for master" sit there for quite a while. So, I got frustrated and closed the program rather than hitting troubleshoot again. Silly me.
