I like to label my palettes and presets. Sometimes my labels are longer than will fit on some of the smaller controls like tombstones, direct selects, and the ML control. On the tombstones they truncate left-justified, on direct selects they appear to be truncated to a fixed length then centered and wrapped over a couple of lines. On the ML control the algorithm appears to be to center the entire text across the face of the button truncating to the left and right.
Is it possible to pick one truncate/format algorithm and stick with it? My preference would be for either the tombstone algorithm or the direct select algorithm. They both make it easier for the programmer to make the truncated labels unique. The ML control algorithm doesn't work for long labels and it is too difficult to guess which part of the label will be visible.
