Lamping Control Issue

Greetings!

I am Running an ION with 1.9 installed.  In my rig I have 8 VL 2500 Spots.

For some time now I have been having an issue with lamping on and off.  the lights will not strike immediately, not even on the first try...often I have to hit the lamp on (or off) up to 20 or 30 times before it will execute.  I did not used to have this problem, but it has existed through several of the last patches (6 months maybe)

Has anyone experienced anything like this?  Let me know!

  • It is possible to copy an existing fixture and then edit its parameters. In the fixture editor, there is a

    {Copy} button. Pressing {Copy} when a library fixture is selected will create a copy of that fixture

    and will assign it a new name. This new fixture can then be edited.

    Step 1. [Display] {Patch} {Fixture}

    Step 2. Select "VL2500Spot"

    Step 3. {Edit} {Lamp Controls}

    Step 4. Select "Lamp On" or "Lamp Off"

    Step 5. {Step} {Time} [4] [Enter]

  • Did you create the show file you are using on an older version of software?  Because the lamp control timing issue on the VLs should be fixed in 1.9.  However, when you bring in a show created on previous software, we maintain the version of the fixture profile that you originally created the show with.  That is so if we made some correction or change to the fixture profile (like changing a home position or something) that you've already corrected for, it won't pooch your show.  You can update to the latest fixture library in patch.... if you press the 'fixtures" softkey, it brings up your fixture list.   There is an update sofkey there.  This will high light any fixtures that have more current profiles than the ones your show was created with.  You select the ones you want to update.....

    That should fix the problem.

    Hope that helps.
