Sick of the disappearing mouse pointer

I would also like to see the mouse wheel channel scrolling come back.

Not me.  I found that really annoying.

Mouse wheel scrolling IS coming back (sorry, that was a development miscommunication).  Most people hated the mouse pointer, so we did, in fact, get rid of it.

If most people hate the mouse, why invest time in mouse intensive displays (ML display, Virtual Keyboard, Color Picker,etc)?  Most mouse hiding functions don't require the user to move the mouse halfway across the screen before it reappears, and they show the pointer when the buttons are clicked.

Yep, we are fixing that part.  Those consoles functions only require a mouse if you aren't working with touchscreens or a full facepanel.. and I would use that word with caution... because a vast majority of the functions on the desk don't require a mouse.

thanks for the input, and pointing out the issue with currently getting the cursor to reappear.  (sorry, since I rarely touch a mouse when using Eos, sometimes these things get by me).

I use the mouse / virtual keyboard on our backup RPU to do cleanup tasks while teching.  Also when I check out the next software version on my PC.

Fair enough.  We will fix it so a smaller movement makes the pointer re-appear.

So I did a search on the forum to find this, wondering if it ever got resolved. I have had the mouse disappear on me twice now and cannot get it to come back. Typically, if I re-plug the mouse into a different usb port it comes back, but last night couldn't get it back at all. I am wondering if this is related to the same issue or do I have a mouse going bad (it's the mouse that came with the console and the console is coming up on 2 years old). 

Unfortunately do not have a touch screen for my Ion, and the mouse seems to be the only way to use the lamp commands in the about screen. 

I have seen this a few times as well using the mouse that came with my console. Most recently during tech for a dance show last week. It took three or four re-plugs using three different ports to get it to come back.

I apologize greatly for the mouse cursor issues.  We've looked into this problem and believe we have a solution which will be in the next release of the code.

One thing we have found in the case of the mouse cursor disappearing and not coming back when you move your mouse or trackball is that if you click the left mouse button, that will often times bring the cursor back.

Tried that with my problem. Is the OS putting the usb ports to sleep? That has been an issue with a couple of brands of usb keyboards I have had in Win XP. 

Haven't seen these issues with the track ball...but then again I don't use the mouse for desk functions just for moving lights. Key board is kinda annoying. I never know where to put it. It seams to always be in the way.

When I was using the ION, I pretty much only used the external keyboard. I honestly couldn't stand the keys that were on the facepanel. Haven't had a chance to try the new key set.
