Output in Patch

Hey yall,

I’m a student lighting designer and I’m having some trouble with the output value.

I’m in patch and all other channel outputs say 0 except one which say 255. No matter what I do I can’t change it to 0. No matter what color I select it always comes up with a purple hue.

Thank you :)

  • The output value in patch you see is the intensity, i doesn't have to do with color. There are multiple reasons why it's at 255 in Patch but at 0 in Live: A Curve, a fixture type that behaves like that or park.

  • Thank you for the response!

Yes unfortunately I figured that out after messing with it for a while. I realize now that the issue now isn’t the output but really the color. As I said in the OP no matter what color is selected, even pure white, there is still a blue hue.

Could you possibly think of a reason why it would be doing that?

I am going to swap out the fixture when I’m next at the theater and hope it’s an issue with the instrument itself instead of something being written incorrectly (probably accidentally by me) somewhere in the software which I can’t find.

    Thank you nonetheless!

  • What's the make and model of the fixture you're using? In color changing LEDs it's unfortunately quite common to have an off-white default color when the amount of red, green and blue aren't carefully balanced in the fixture.

I'd check first that you have the right mode and can control each color separately. If that's working as expected you could change the color manually with the encoders until you have a better white and then either store that as a Home Preset or change the home values in the fixture profile accordingly.
