Startup macro to warm lights?

Greetings,

‘I’m wondering if anyone has a startup macro that would set all my non-leds to like 15% when booting up the console? We have a teacher who likes to come in and just turn everything on at full and pop bulbs all the time.

ideally, if there was a way to do the macro and not have the board not allow fader/channel moves until the macro was done would be ideal.

Using element boards.thanks

  • That should absolutely be doable. There isn't a special function to preheat channels in the context you want to use it, so depending on how exactly you want it to work you could have the macro use manual values, a sub or an effect.

Please note that startup macros live in a showfile, so if the console has a different showfile loaded when it was shut down or if a deep clear was performed you wouldn't have the startup macro next time the console starts.

Another method, depending on your dimmers, would be to use their preheat function (if available). Not set to 15%, but somewhere between 5 and 10%. Enough to warm up the filament but not enough to make it emit light. This way the preheat function could constantly be on.

    Does this help?
