Recording Consecutive subs on ION

Hi

I'm sure that this has been mentioned before, but I can't find it.

Is there a way to select the next free sub. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I seem to keep coming up against the same problem. If I have a load of subs already recorded, then go back to edit one, when I try to record the next sub by either pressing [Record][sub] (Load) or by [Record][Sub][Next](load) it tries to overwrite an existing sub.

Many thanks

Rowan

  • Assuming a fader wing ?.

Press Record and hit the bump button for whatever sub doesn't have a lit LED, then Enter.

You can also re-record an existing sub by pressing Record - press the bump button at which point the console gives  you an "Are You Sure" prompt, press enter to complete.

You can also scroll thru subs using Last/Next - I.E. Sub 1 Label, record the label - Enter, then press Next for Sub 2 (as Next - Label will get you to the lable edit for the next sub).

  • kind of along those lines, with the new update, you have to select exactly which sub to load to...is there a quick way, or maybe even in the same syntax as recording your submaster, to assign which sub goes where??

For example, if you wanted to record sub 1 into the obvious slot/submaster #1, is there a way to just assign it into the first slot without taking time to locate submaster #1 within the syntax of [RECORD] + [SUB] + [1] + [?????] + [ENTER]

Thanks! Hope this makes sense [I've been programming all night and day...everyday this week...TGIF]

Since the fader handles don't have to be subs, you can delete any automatic sub assignments prior to starting a session (Delete - Subs - 1 - Thru - XX - Enter).  The faders are still configured as Subs, just nothing assigned.  Once cleared, when you record a Sub - Say "Ch. - 1 - @ - Full - Enter, Record - Sub - 1 - Enter",  that Sub automatically populates Fader 1.  Ditto anything recorded to Sub 15, populating Fader 15. Should you choose to NOT clear out subs, any record of an existing sub will give you a "Please Confirm".  Pressing Enter a 2nd time loads the sub with the new look.

Is that what you are looking for ?.
