Update Cue List Highlight

I'll often update discreet channel selections to different cues.  If I update last, the selected cue changes to the last cue.  As of 1.9, if I update again, the last cue is still selected, though the current cue posts to the update list.  After pressing enter, the selected cue still stays on the last cue.

The behavior of update (reverting to the current cue) makes a lot of sense to me, but when updating, the cue list highlight is the easiest way to quickly confirm that I'm updating the right cue target.

My preference would be for [Update] to reset the cue selection to the current cue.  If the command line gets cleared out, the cue selection would revert.

  • Josh, see your point.  This is misleading.  But be assured that the information in the CIA regarding what cues will be impacted by the update is correct.... regardless of the cue that is currently selected.

Will ponder a solution.  I'm afraid we would run into a lot of trouble resetting the selected cue when the command line is cleared, but we should possibly do it at the point of the update button being entered.

    thanks,

  • Just a thought — what if update (and record?) produced a distinct cue number selection highlight for any cues that would be affected by the update — something like a red border instead of gold.  That way the update target selection would appear clearly different and independent of the selected cue.   I could also see this useful for showing which cue lists would get updated, if there are multiples.

The update info in the CIA is great, but it's just too small and wordy for those quick, mid-runthrough, "do I really mean this cue" checks.
