Using EOS offline software and Capture on same Mac?

Hello,

I have ETC offline software on my Mac, I also use Capture 2024, im purchasing a programme wing so I can design and programme at home, im unable to get EOS to talk to Capture on my one device, downloading Artnet view from the App Store and that's not registering that Eos software is sending art net out, I have all the protocols ticked and in Patch and in settings and still no joy?

Any advice please id be most grateful cause iv seen it done I just can't seem to do it on my device.

Thank You

  • Hi there.

If you've already enabled the ArtNet protocol in Patch->Protocols, and either set it as a default protocol or assigned it as a protocol on the channels you're trying to visualize, there's a couple of things that you could check.

Assuming you're running the most up-to-date version, 3.2.10 (location of settings would vary if you're on an older version, especially earlier than 3.2.x):

    1) Make sure you launch Eos in "Offline w/viz" mode. If launched in "Offline" mode, Eos will not output any protocol.

    2) Make sure you have ArtNet enabled on the network interface that ArtNet View is listening on in Setup->Device->Network.

    3) If possible, make sure that Capture or ArtNet View are listening for ArtNet on the network interface that you have enabled ArtNet on within Eos

    4) If you're using your computer's local loopback adapter for Capture or ArtNet View, you may want to try to set a Unicast address of 127.0.0.1 on the universes you're trying to visualize in Patch->Protocols->ArtNet.

I'm able to get ArtNet in "Offline w/viz" mode and detect it with The ArtNetominator on my machine. Granted I'm not on a Mac, but I wouldn't expect the different platform to matter too much.
