Magic sheet element visibility

I feel ridiculous asking this, but I have been racking my brain to figure it out, and I know it's possible.  I want to control the visibility of a Magic Sheet element; how do I do that?  What I am doing is that I have two elements on my Magic Sheet for my hazer and I want one of those elements to be visible when the hazer is running and then the other one visible when the haze is off. I am sure there is a visibility option for magic sheet elements, but I can't seem to find it ... what am I missing here?

Thanks!

  • You could make the fill colour react to the intensity by linking it in the menu.

  • Thanks, but unfortunately, Hazers and fog machines do not have intensity parameters so this will not work.

  • How are you running the hazer? Is it on a sub, programmed into cues or do you want the magic sheet element to turn it on and off?

  • The hazer is programmed into cues.  However, I have the hazer cues in their own cue list, which is synced with the master cue list.  This way, I can clearly see when the hazer is on and in which cue to try to avoid any unwanted issues.  However, I wanted to easily see the hazer's state on the magic sheet.

What I ended up doing was creating a couple of dummy channels that were patched as an RGB fixture.  I then made a colour palette for an on-state and a colour palette for an off-state.  I then linked these color palettes to a graphic element in the magic sheet.  So every time the hazer is on, the dummy channels are in the "on" colour palette, and then when the hazer is off, the dummy channel is in the "off" color palette.  The trouble with this approach is that it forces me to remember to record these colour palettes and dummy channel into the cue with the hazer ...  so I was wondering if I could do the same thing, but by enabling an option or something in the Magic Sheet editior that say "for this non-intensity state, show this color" or something to that effect.  Also, for context, on the magic sheet, I already have it showing the non-intensity parameter for the hazer (new in version 3.2.10), which is linked to a preset for "Haze On."  And I know this seems like it covers it all, I to see if I could have saved a step (or 5).

    Thanks
