fixture with 32bit channel?

i just heard about a fixture that uses 3 dmx-channels for a 32bit data (as 2 dmx-channels equal 16bit), i.e. coarse, fine and superfine. just out of curiousity: would it be possible to control such a fixture with an eos/ion?

cheers from switzerland

  • Can you tell me the Manufacturer/Name of the fixture?   Not supported at this time, as there has been no requirement.  But we are interested in the math that got to 32 bits....

    thanks,

  • i knew that something was wrong with the number 32 already when i was writing it down. so i was told yesterday, that the GMA can do 24bit., which equals the three control channels coarse, fine, ultra-fine. the fixture must be a product by Pani, an austrian stage projection manufacturer. it's an accessory to their projectors, but i can't seem to find out right now, which one it is. it's a grey scale mechanicale dimmer, an image slider or something along these lines.

still trying to find out what it is exactly, though.
