DMX-out view?

from time to time i'd love to have a view of the reald dmx-output. preferably of a complete universe. it can be somewhere in the displays list in the cia but it'd be great to have it somewhere. the about is not bad either (except, that it doesn't calculate the curves, does it?), but sometimes i need to see all of the console's output...

is there anyone agreeing on that? or is it maybe already on a wish list? then maybe pump it up one or two slots? :-)

cheers from switzerland

  • sounds good to me! well, for starters ;-) so, i would have a general overview (kinda) in patch, but when i'm trying to track a certain dmx-address and i realise it's part of a multiparameter fixture, i would still have to leave the patch view and use about?

and what could be a disadvantage of using the patch to display dmx-out, is that by mistake i can do damage in patch, whereas a dedicated dmx-out-display could be read-only and would just be a display to satisfy my voyeuristic needs...

  • Whenever I want to view the current ouput I use an open source program called sACNview (http://sacnview.sourceforge.net/).

This not only shows me what my EOS is outputting but what other network devices are outputting (I've got a Pharos that also get put onto the network with an ACN node)

But then again this works well for me since i have a computer next to my console.
