Hi from Australia,
About a year ago I purchased an Ion 1000 and 2 X 20 fader wing as the beginning of a venue wide shift from Strand 500 series consoles to the Eos family.
Firstly we have had a great transition between the 2 consoles (which was the main thing I had concerns about stepping away from Strand land), and all of our operators have picked up the console fantastically.
As of early this month we have taken possession of 2 more Ion 3000's and an Element console and have quickly noticed the difference in the speed between the 1000 and the 3000 channel models. Frankly the Ion 1000 has always seemed a little slow but I kind looked past that due to how good the console is.
I've had a look at the hardware specs between the new and old consoles and noticed both processor and RAM upgrades. I'm assuming that this is what has improved the performance of the Ion 3000's.
What i'm wondering is whether a RAM upgrade into the Ion 1000 would help (as this would be a fairly easy user upgrade) or whether the problem lay deeper with the processor or software?
Thank you in advance, look forward to hearing from you soon.
