we have decided for various reasons to use the lamp control feature not only for the lamp strike of the momving light, but also as a way to get power to the fixture. for that, we have a power distribution with dmx controlled relays. so every fixture has an additional dmx-address for its power. for that, i added another part in patch, set up a custom fixture with the parameter Lamp Power, that has two states. so far everythings fine.
but how on earth do i find out, if someone has already switched on the power for a certain instrument? of course i just could switch it on again, just to make sure, but that neither seems especially satisfying nor does it solve all issues. and to look up the dmx address of the specific relay every time and then Address 3/502 Enter About seems like too much of a waste of time, key strokes and resources.
so could there be an indicator in Live, maybe even in thumbstone view but certainly when i have formatted to see tables of my NIP-fixtures. and even more certainly should there be a way to tell from the buttons in lampcontrol, which ones are currently active (when with Hold-attribute) or have been selected last (when Time-attribute).
any thought's on that? anyone agreeing?
