"Dumb" Color Recall From

Hi.

I am working with a rig of HES Solawash Pro 2000, HES Solaframe Theatre, and HES Solaframe Studios.

I mostly use the Color Picker and Tint tools for Colors, so I'm reliant on "Color Recall From" when programming.

What really anoying me, is that most of the time "Color Recall From" gets the color wrong because of the whole Hue/Sat/Bright math going on in the background with the Calibrated fixtures.

I was wondering if there's a way to do a "dumb" recall from, where only the true values of the CMY flags are copied, without any HSB logic behind it, because honestly.....this often gives me a better result/starting point for colors than using Recall from.

Cyan Recall From ... Enter grabs the True values but Cyan/Magenta/Yellow recall from also applies the HSB logic.

If this is somehow macroable (so Cyan recall from enter, magenta recall from enter, yellow recall from enter all separately), I'd appreciate some syntax help.

Thanks.

  • In pretty much all cases, the colors are in plain values, since I use tint tools all the time to correct for differences between the different models of lights. since most of our colors are one-offs I've not yet found a good way to manage colors in palettes across different models of lights. if all Lights where already in palettes that are color-matched across the different fixtures, this wouldn't be a big issue. but they arent...
