Toggle object in magic sheet

I have a magic sheet that, among other things, displays the status of two moving lights in my rig. They are the only two lights to have lamps that need to be struck/doused instead of just turned on. I would like to have an object that changes color when the lamps have been struck. However, the big thing is that I want it to stay changed even when commands like Sneak or Go to cue out are used. I tried linking the object to its own unpatched channel and parking it, but parking it at full does not keep the object at full on the magic sheet. Is there any way I can use a manual method to switch an object on the magic sheet between two colors with macros or something that will prevent it from changing back when I sneak or go to cue out?

Thanks :)

  • The way I go about this is using ACN object in the magic sheet that is monitoring the specific channel used for striking the lamp. There are a few downsides: (1) does not work in offline mode since ACN isn't outputting; (2) this presumes that you're using a lamp control command/macro to actually "toggle" the fixture state to lamp on.
