Lock a Channel

Hello All,

I wish to lock a channel, so that no one else can accidentally change it's intensity value.
I have various HS student programmers.
I'm using a Chauvet SMX-4 as a power switch to 2, unreachable,  intelligent fixtures.
I know enough to park this channel at FL% or 00% intensity, so that it functions like a power switch.
Intensity setting between 00% & FL% could cause damage to the fixtures.
I would like to lock this channel, so that I am the only one who can change it's intensity.

Thanks all.

  • Setting a dimmer to full will only output a sine wave if the device is specifically built to be a switch rather than a dimmer. Make sure that the device you're using is meant for this purpose, otherwise you could damage your moving lights, even if you only set the power channel to full or zero.

Parking is one of the ways of locking. Another way would be a shielded sub. You could also look into using an inverted curve.
