Ion Contact Closure and Extron/Kramer Boxes

I have several Extron and Kramer boxes that just need a simple contact closeure made in order to switch from one input to another (e.g. when 1 and common are connected it uses input 1, when 2 and common are connected it uses imput 2.  If the connection is open you can select imputs via the box's facepanel switches.)

I have read the article in the Wiki, but the diagram doesn't make any sense to me.  How can I create a cable that connects to the Ion with a DB15 connector that will allow me to connect to the simple terminal screws on an Extron or Kramer box?

Thanks!

  • If I am interpreting the drawing correctly, then the Ion accepts 4 analog inputs and provides 1 relay output off of the remote trigger connector.

Connect one wire to pin 11 (Relay Common) and one wire to either pin 9 (Relay Normally Closed) or pin 10 (Relay Normally Open) to trigger one switch.

You would need either an I/O Gateway or a third-party DMX relay device to control more than 1 relay output.
