Is there a way to create a custom parameter in the fixture editor?

We're trying to create a profile for a snow machine.

It uses 4 DMX addresses.

1st DMX  = motor forward (Binary ON or OFF)

2nd DMX = motor backward (Binary ON or OFF)

3rd DMX = motor forward speed

4th DMX = motor backwards speed

How do we create discrete DMX values for the binary controls in the fixture editor?

Is it possible to create custom parameter names in the fixture editor?

Is it possible to have activity on 1st DMX lock out activity on 2nd DMX (and vice versa)? (That is, either 1st DMX has a value above 0 or 2nd DMX has a value above 0 but not both)

Thanks

  • For the Speed, you can use "Global MSpeed" & "Global MSpeed2" in >Form< Or if possible only use one and have them set to +/-

    And for the direction...

    All different.
You have a "Master" of Forward or Backwards.
If you go Forward, than only the Forward speed (parameter Global MSpeed for example) will increase in positive direction.
If Backwards is selected, the parameter will set up the other value to 0 and move the negative speed (Backward) up.

You likely will go with some virtual parameters.
For Motor-direction you could use "Effect Direction" as a virtual parameter.

Let me wrap my head around that...
