Effect Rate macro

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a way to write a macro that would increase or decrease the rate of an effect in increments. Ideally I want a button on a magic sheet that someone could tap and each time it would speed up the rate by say 10% and then another that slows it down similarly. Any advice appreciated and thanks in advance.

  • Hi Matt,

I don't believe this is currently possible in the way you're asking about. I've played around with modifiying the effect rate in live (in a macro) with incremental changes as well as on fader level increments with global FX masters mapped to no avail.

However... perhaps what you are asking for does exist already in another form. In the Fader Config tab (Tab 36), you can map faders as Global FX masters.

By default, they will affect all effects running, but you can put an Effect Filter on each fader. Which would allow you to map a global FX fader for each of the effects that you want to modify the rate of. Also be aware that Global FX faders are by default set to Size, not Rate. But you can configure the fader to modify size.

From here, you can either use the virtual fader page (Tab 28) or add these faders onto a magic sheet.

    I hope this can help!
