Delete channel in patch does not delete show data

Question

When I delete channels in patch a red message appears saying All show data for these channels will also be deleted. Please confirm. 
 When I hit enter, those channels still are in my groups.

Yes, channels are not removed from groups when deleting those channels in patch. This is on purpose and has been unchanged since before 2.3 which was released over 10 years ago. 
 There is currently a request written up to add an option to delete channel from groups when deleting the channel from patch. I will add a note that you're running into this as well. 
 [EOS-36370] When deleting a channel in patch, provide an option to also delete it from any groups it is stored to.
