Hi,
the work accomplished with NDI in 3.3.0 beta was amazing. Are you considering an open source alternative like OMT?

I think one of the keys isn't just to support "some sort of" video-over-IP, but something that is widely used by gear that people are already using in their production workflow. For example, cameras, video media servers, etc. For example we use Resolume and/or Pixera at various venues for LED video content, and can grab an NDI stream and bring that in as a pixel mapping source. However, OMT isn't widely adopted by any commerical video playout server that I'm aware of, nor is it used for any network enabled camera.
That being said, there are plenty of other video-over-IP that are out there -- that is supported by production grade video sources -- I think of SMTP 2110 (relatively new but VERY high bandwidth), RTSP & RTMP, etc.
Our whole video-infrastructure is NDI based.
Do you know of a way to convert between protocols without significant delay, by chance?
I wouldn't want to miss out on integrating video-streams in the future, but our gear doesn't support any other protocols at the moment.
