Import Media pixel map

Hello,

I'm using a Mac M1 Sequoia 15.5. EOS version 3.3.2.36.

I'm having trouble importing Pixelmap media.

Either it displays "Import successful" but remains at 0%,

or it displays "Import successful" but remains at 100%, but in both cases, nothing appears in the library.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,
Sylvain

  • I'm on Mac 15.7 and Eos 3.3.2 and importing is working exactly as expected, but a few things to be aware of that aren't necessarily obvious:

What you're running into is what likely got me hung up the first time as well:

There is no interactive file conflict behavior like in the Finder or Windows -- instead, during import, you decide if you want to overwrite files (lower right corner) -- this is disabled by default (which is the safest option). So -- if the file exists and this is set to NOT overwrite, then it does the Finder equivalent of "skip" without notification. There is no "error" since you already acknowledge that if there was any conflicts to not overwrite. Therefore, you need to make sure that when importing media, the target is already available. Alternatively you can select one of the other import options, which of course could be dangerous.

The second is to ensure that you're importing a compatible file: https://www.etcconnect.com/WebDocs/Controls/EosFamilyOnlineHelp/en/Content/21_Virtual_Media_Server/Pixel_Map_Media.htm -- I believe the system also silently ignores incompatible files.
