Mac2K Perf. on Ion

Hi,

I'm doing some preprogramming using the Martin MAC2K Performance 16bit profile on an Ion running 1.9. I don't have any actual fixtures available yet but am programming some palettes, etc. and checking levels with a DMX tester. I'm currently trying to use the Animation wheel and I'm running into some difficulties with setting it to a level that keeps it in the beam. It seems that the only values that it lets me set on "Animation Select" is either 0-3% or 90-92% which is "No effect" It skips over all of the other values on that channel.

One other thing I've noticed about this profile is that the Iris attribute shows up as a DMX 0-255 level and the Edge attribute shows up as 0-100%. I'm confused as to why these aren't consistant.

On a side note, is there any way to "latch" the data key so that if I want to see those levels I don't have to hold down that key?

  • The missing ranges on “Animation Select” can be accessed by changing the “Animation Select Mode”.  After changing the mode, the DMX output ranges from DMX 11 to 229 and DMX 236 to 255 can be produced. On the ION, you can change the mode by pressing the “mode” button while pushing down on the “Animation Select” encoder. On the EOS, press the “mode” button displayed near the encoder.

     

    Iris is exposed as 0 to 255 because it is a collection of modes. (Each mode has a separate 1 to 100% range but current the console doesn’t expose these modes via an “Iris Mode” parameter) We have run into iris mode problems that made us remove “Iris Mode” unless the fixture truly has that DMX channel.

     

    I am told that a toggle for the “Data” key is on the future features list.
