Profile Building

We have some new light bars. Though we can run them as All R, G, B or A they actually have 8 sections each with a RGBA diode you can access and control separately. As per lots of stuff from China we have to build our own Profile (will we ever learn!)

What sort of Profile would we need to create to access the 8 separate sections and give us a decent UI in ML Controls?

Would it be a Multi Cell for example?

  • Yes a multicell fixture is what you will need to create. There is another way but it can get a little tricky depending on the dmx requirements. It could be patched as 8 rgbw fixtures using the starting address but if there is a master intensity Chanel it will not work. The fixture creator is quite good. 

  • I followed the instructions, and it looked pretty good except for the fact my fixture is a 32 channel one. I.E. it only takes 1>4 for first RGBA, 1<4 next up to 5<8 and so 4 x 8 = 32. 

    In the "Master I have turned that Intens to 0 (Virtual} and then tried to renumber 1st diode in first block to 1 and so on. But it keeps going back to DMX Address 2! So, I finish up with a 33 channel fixture! Ideas?
