I bought a used Ion Classic (yup, the oldest version and Windows XP) in 2021. I have been using it with no issues up until recently. It started to freeze about 2 minutes after boot up, would do a hard reset, and then it would be fine until the next boot up. I ended up deleting a bunch of files and closing out windows, keeping only the ones necessary for running a show, and it stopped doing it, until the last show I just programmed. This time, it froze after 2 minutes, I did the hard reset and it beeped 3 times at me, then didn’t booted. I hard reset one more time and it booted. I deleted some files and closed out windows, and it seems to be okay, but I know I need to do something about this.
i did contact tech support, they just recommended going to my preferred ETC repair dealer.
I have read about people upgrading their old Ion systems to include upgrading the Windows software, ram, and to an SSD hard drive. What are people’s experience with this? How did you do it? (Explain it to me like I’m 5).
