Hi.
Our typical showfile size stays <10MB. After adding a bunch of 1080p pngs for documentation purposes to a magic sheet, the showfile size quickly ballooned to over 100MB. We are running a Primary, Backup, and 1-2 Clients all over a 100 Mbps switch.
I instantly noticed Showfile sync was taking significantly longer than usual (Around 20s). This in itself is not a problem since the backup still takes over almost instantly, without having to download the showfile. But when taking control back as the Primary, playback is paused for almost the entire duration of the showfile sync.
I'm wondering how other venues with big showfiles and backup processors deal with this, or if you consider this a problem at all with higher bandwidth switches. Maybe it's just time to upgrade our switches :D
Cheers.
