I'm not an ETC user but in a new venue this week so on a steep learning curve. I have a cue stack for a show but there are one or two cues where I need to control the fade in real time. That is, I need to start the cue then override the fade time to slow or speed up during the action. I work on a Zero88 desk at my home theatre which has a dial to do exactly that. It sits on 'normal' but I can rotate down to 0 to hold during the fade, or dial up to full to snap.
I've seen videos on setting a Master Fade to a dimmer channel but I'm not sure if that does what I need. I'm on Nomad PC based system.
Any help appreciated.
