Submaster Idea

What would be recorded in that submaster? As groups are only channel selections, & don't have any levels or other parameter information, what would the console recall when using those subs?

The sub would take control as would you using the syntax of group 1 enter then taking control on the week, so in simple terms, the sub acting as the wheel.

So instead of you recording those channels into a sub, then mapping the sub to a fader.

You can simply select your group, or infact just channels, the press load and it would cut out recording all the above and just putting those channels straight into that sub @ full and having control from the fader.

I would like to bump this again, I was doing some EOS training at a venue with a new EOS console and this idea seamed to fit them perfectly.

When the question above was asked about what values would be put into the sub, maybe change it slightly and have a quick way of putting presets into subs? So [Preset 1] [Fader 1 Load]?

Try...

[Blind]

[Sub] [1] [Enter]

[Recall from] [Preset] [1] [Enter]

I have to admit that I'm a bit lost - if you want quick access to a group of lights on a fader wing button - just create a sub with the channels. The top button will post [Group][Sub][x]. Most record targets can be used as groups with this same syntax - Group Sub, Group, Cue, Group Preset, Group Effect, and so on.

You can also use Preset 1 Copy To Sub 1 in Live, if that's what you are after?

You could also take your presets and select a range and use copy to...

[Preset] [1] [thru] [10] [Copy to] [Sub] [1]

It would do the same thing as Matt suggested but in a range.

So when I have a submaster which has a group with intensity only, I understand that when the slider is down, the bottom button acts as a bump and the top button as a select the group.

How can I make it so that if I have the slider above 0 position, the top button still act as a select the group?

For example, sometimes when running a live show and making adjustments outside of a cue, I'll use a submaster to impact an intensity change of a given group of fixtures.

When these are intelligent fixtures, I want to be able to still hit the top button to select the group, so that I can then go to a pallette on the touch screen and change color, position, etc.

Is this not possible?

At the moment, when the sub is active, the top button is an assert function.... it only acts as a group select when the sub isn't active.

It would be helpful to be able to toggle that option, either when creating the submaster, or across the board.

For our application, we never use assert.
