CSV Cue Import - Something's changed

Hey All,

I have a routine I've used in the past to get cue sheets prepared in Excel imported into Eos. I know this works, but I haven't used it for a while.

In trying today, it doesn't work. The import says 'success!', but no cues appear.

I suspect that's Eos software-version related. If I export a CSV file from the Eos version I'm trying to import in to, I can see some extra fields have appeared compared to last time I did this, eg. TARGET_DCID, ALERT_TIME, WIDTH, HEIGHT.

I've adapted my exporter to export these fields, but with no content. But the cues are still not coming into Eos.

My suspicion is that Eos is now looking for a TARGET_DCID, which I suspect is a cue-number-independent identifier for a cue (a long, multi-digit identifier, looking at my test export file), for each cue. I wonder if because this field is blank in my 'to be imported' file, nothing is being imported?

Or is there some other field that has to have data for a cue to appear? For example, there is no cue timing in my to be imported file?

Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received, as it'd be great not to have to type all this stuff in again!!

Thanks!

  • OK so to answer my own question: in this case it turns out the issue was Dropbox not syncing properly (or rather, leaving files as 'online only') when I saved the text file on one machine then went to open it in an Eos client running on another. The clue, when I paid attention, was the '0.0' file size.

    However from this:

    a) Should Eos on Mac/PC trigger a Dropbox download when trying to access an 'online only' file - it doesn't currently.

    b) Should Eos give a warning when trying to open a file with no content, rather than proudly showing 'Success!!'

    c) I am still curious about these new unique identifiers. Presumably if there are no identifiers in the to be imported CSV file, Eos creates them? But the export now also seems to identify the cue list - do I need a cue list identifier as part of the to-be-imported file now?

    Thanks!
