Problems after 1.9.1 software upgrading?

Question 1:- I upgrade the 1.9.1 software in ion (One Console and 1X20 Two Fader wings and no RPU or no back up console) (Using 2 monitors) 26 August 2010.

After the installation the ion console begin to start up. The window opens the ECU – (Also known as the EOS shell). Then I press the PRIMARY button and the ion window opened. The console status has shown USER 1 OFFLINE. Then I saved our show file and it’s working. I checked the settings and found OFFLINE O/P enabled, that’s why the DMX O/P coming the OFFLINE Status also. The settings window dmx O/P in offline option is activated in default.

In settings window I didn’t find any special settings options. Why ion status shown user 1 offline? Any special settings need for changing the status User 1 Primary after installing the 1.9.1 version in ion?

The previous ion software had shown USER 1 PRIMARY

Before, we press the power button after the console Work window open fully. After installing the 1.9.1 software the console start up and stop the ECU window, then we can see the PRIMARY or CLIENT or OFFLINE SETTINGS or SHUTDOWN. Then need to press PRIMARY to open the work window. After launching the work window the status is not in primary and we can see USER 1 OFFLINE.

Why the console not opened fully without showing the ECU window the start up time?

We are selecting the PRIMARY and why the console select and shown the USER 1 OFFLINE?

Question 2:- I try to update the 2X10 wings to v1.2. ECU window, then press settings, then press maintenance and saw the Firmware Update window. I saw two links there. I try to press update button, but update button is not activated. How can update the firmware also? Or Auto updating is doing with the software upgrading time?

Question 3:- Our ion console previous software shown the Lamp Controls in MORE KEY Button then can see the LCD screen. The 1.9.1 software can’t find the Lamp Control in the LCD screen. Selecting the particular fixture then press ABOUT button, the can see the Lamp Control on the First monitor CIA area. Why this type of changes happen the new software? Any other changes of the Hard Key or Soft Key in ION?

Expecting the 1.9.1 Full Manual through online describing the changes fully in EOS and ION.

What doubts are you having about your Eos?

  • Dear Mr Corey,

Many thanks for your valuable information’s.

My EOS doubts are describing below.

Question 1:- Kindly describe, How to delete the 0% (Zero) Intensity channels permanently from a Cue? Our all Cues I can see the 0% (zero) Intensity channels. I don’t want that 0% Intensity channels in the Cue. What kind of commands to put to avoid the 0% channels avoid from the cue?

Question 2:- Installing the 1.9.1 software after this change affected our eos console. Our EOS the previous software version, (1.4) the Active channels window can select manually the channels 1 through 200 (Dimmers or Intensity parameters) and its can change the Intensities through the fader wheel also. Now the Active channel window can see the active cue channels and can’t select the channels 1 through 200. I try to select the channels 1 through 200 and move the fader wheel. But some channels not working and not shown the window also.

I press the Flexi and change the page to Selected Channels, patched channels window can select the channels 1 through 200 and working the Intensity through the fader wheel. Why I can’t select all channels manually from the Active channels window same as before?

Active channel window is running a cue and can see some channel intensities are Zero and not using. That zero Intensity channels and Cue recorded channels only selecting manually.  Other channels not including the Cue can’t select manually and not change the Intensity through the Fader wheel. Kindly inform me the solutions and commands.

I am expecting your valuable help.

  • #1 - to remove data from a cue, select that channel, the parameter you are interested in and press @ Enter.  If you do this in live, it will result in a tracked value from the previous cue that then needs to be stored.   If you do this in blind, it still results in a tracked value from the previous cue, but the change is automatically stored.    If you want to remove from the entire cue list (this is most easily done in blind) - select your first cue thru enter.  This selects all cues in the list.  Select the channel and the parameter you are interested in and @ enter.  This removes the data from the cue list entirely.  If you are working with an intensity only channel, you can just select that channel (at enter removes data for the entire channel unless you specify a parameter).  If you need the channel in parts of the cue list but not others, you can null the data in blind.  Select the cue range you want to remove the data from, followed by the channel number and then [make null] enter.

When you record a cue, if that channel is sitting with a manual zero (red) we will store a zero in the cue.  If you don't want the manual zero stored, sneak it prior to the record action.   If the channel you are talking about is a multi-parameter device, if you use the record button we will store a zero value for the channel (if it is off) if you have any data for the rest of the channel (record stores all parameters of any devices that are in use).  You can use (Record Only) to store only the manual information.

#2.  In 1.7, we changed it so that the thru command is routed through the information in the current flexi-channel mode.  As such, it does not select channels outside of your current flexi state (unless the entire channel range is outside of the current flexi state, in which case it will).  To select in a thru range and grab channels that may not be included in the current flexi state, use thru thru.    The same is true of using the address key.   We do this to facilitate doing an address or channel check of only specific channels (such as "show channels).

the "Active" flexi mode is actually "Active and Moved" (but that really doesn't fit on the button).  So, if you have just set a channel to zero, it will be displayed in the "active" flexi mode, until that zero value becomes a track.

    Hope that helps.
