I'm hoping to be able to maintain separate image libraries in ArKaos VJ DMX -- as it stands, they offer just one library which forces any file you add to the end of the list. That makes organization a real PITA if you want to expand your library but maintain images in groups.
I've found a post on the ArKaos user forums in which some users were able to work around that by maintaining libraries outside of the default ArKaos lists. This should allow me to maintain separate folders for logos, show-specific collections, textures, scenic elements, etc.
I'm requesting a tweaked profile from ETC because the attribute requiring editing (File_Type) is not editable.
The discussion is here: http://www.arkaos.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5768
The fix is here (copied from their forums):
1. Add the Folder ArKaosLibrary to the ArKaos VJ 3.6.5 beta4 Folder
2.
Add Folders named: 128_Library, 129_Library, 130_Library, etc... thru
255_Library
3. Make sure that your Fixture Profile in your Control
Console is set to send packets 128-255 on the 2nd DMX attribute.

I’ve edited my HogII Fixture to include this change to the 2nd channel
parameter
= Vis type
default = 0
highlight = 0
crossfade = 1
type =
htp8bit
range = 0, picture
range = 32, movie
range = 64, camera
range
= 96, flash
range = 128, 255,
Library
Then your set to go - Only problem that i haven't
fixed yet is that once you dial into Library range , HogII shows Library
0, Library 1, etc. So you just need to remember that Library 0 =
128_Library
In the ETC personality, the 2nd attribute is File_Type, which currently includes ranges up to 127, but is not editable. (hence my request)
I don't necessarily need folders through the whole range - I'll take them, but if it makes any difference, I can get by with 12 or (better yet) 24. If there's a better way to do it, I'm open to whatever you can come up with - I'd just like the functionality.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
