So I wasn't actually working today, but went in to see Rich Hall this evening, and the houselights were odd.
Asked what had happened and my fellow crew operating tonight said that when he went to take the houselights out they wouldn't go, so I took a look at the desk and show file after the show.
Situation was: inadvertently during the day he had recorded the houselights in to Cue 1, which then had tracked through to Cue 5.
He said he didn't use any cues for the performance, though the desk was sat in Cue 2 when I looked. When I pulled down the submaster that held the houselights, I couldn't pull them past the background value in the cue, this is correct - HTP.
Though, if I then wheeled out the channels manually to 0, I would be unable to have any control of them via the submaster&fader at all, and if then unselected, I would ONLY have control via the submaster, AFTER the values had surpassed the value tracking through the cues.
SO: 501>504 @52% in Cue 2. Type 501>504 ENTER [wheel to 0%]. Lift Sub 20, no effect until after 52% where they would snap onto that value and then continue their journey to full.
Now there may be logic behind this, but in my head, I want HTP to take effect WHATEVER. Ergo, if a channel is sitting at 0% I want to be able to fade it in from the submaster in this instance. and for the background value from the cue to HAVE no effect, as I have since applied a manual value over the top.
Is there logic here?
