Artnet and EOS

Hi  guys,

We're currently running and EOS with Sensor+ dimmers (spread across 4 'Universes' on Net3) and 2 Gateways outputting 4 DMX Universes between them (taking us up to universe 8). If I were to want to add an Artnet device, would I have to lose a DMX output? Or will everything play nicely together?

Cheers muchly,

Dave

  • Dave,

If you use the [About] key- it will tell you how many parameters you have available and how many are in use.  If I remember correctly, you can output up to the parameter count of your license, spread out over as many output universes as needed.  For example an EOS 4000 system can control 4096 parameters (dimmers, ML attributes, etc.) or the equivalent of 8 full universes of DMX but they don't all have to be patched to universe 8 and below.

If your Artnet device uses fewer parameters than you currently have available, you should be good to go if you patch it into EOS universe 9 or above (Artnet universe 8 because Artnet starts numbering its universes with a zero...)
