Scroller callibration with Ion Client

I was trying to callibrate some scrollers today and found that it is no longer possible to do so from the client. Some time between v1.7 and v1.9 the virtual encoders were removed from the client. The ML control doesn't appear to provide any substitute.

Is there an alternate way to manually advance the scrollers using the client? If not, could you consider an enhancement for the ML control to add a virtual encoder for the scroll. Element users must have similar challenges trying to split-gel a scroller or color wheel without encoders.

  • In the ML Controls area, try clicking on the "Scroller :: open" header above the list of frames.  That should open the virtual scroller encoder just to the left of the existing scroll area.  Then you can calibrate as you're used to.

Additionally, once you've opened the encoder, if you prefer you can click on the "Scroller" header to populate the command line with the Scroller attribute.  Then you can just type in a value for the scroller attribute.

Last but not least, if you turn off the scroll lock on your keyboard for a moment, you can just type the channel number followed by the word "Scroller" (capitalization actually doesn't matter) and then follow that with a space and a number.

The first option is probably what you're seeking, but the others are available if they better meet your needs.
