Ion offline editor for Mac

Does anyone know if there is a keyboard shortcut list for Mac users? They don't seem to be the same as for PC. I'm trying to find out which shortcut key takes you to the patch screen. Various combinations of ALT and CMD plus letters and numbers let you do various things eg bring up groups etc.. but can't get into patch anywhere.

Thanks

  • I just ran into this issue as well today showing a student on a mac book pro how to use the offline editor.

It seems that the mac won't let me use the F keys with offline, instead of showing the CIA when I pressed F9 on his laptop it would attempt to "next track" in itunes, and when I pressed Fn-F9 it would show me all the open windows.

  • You have a system-wide shortcut mapped to F9.  Go to System Preferences>Keyboard.  Look at Expose & Spaces -- what you're seeing is Expose's All Windows feature.  You can either turn off or re-assign the shortcut.

Under the keyboard tab of the settings, you can select whether the function keys behave as application function keys or as special keys.  The fn button will do the opposite of your preference.

FYI, you can also get to patch via the displays hotkey, then the corresponding softkey (I don't have it in from of me).  You can also get to patch via the brewer in the CIA.  Once patch is open, it will stay in a tab until you close it, so you really only need those extra few keystrokes once.

  • On my Mac Book Pro I am able to use the "F" keys in Eos by holding the [Apple] button down, which allows me to keep my familiar system shortcuts intact

  • I tried the Apple-F9 thing, no dice on my iMac with 10.6.4

As for going to Displays -> Patch in the CIA, this works on EOS offline, but not ION offline.
