focus Palette - Drifting issue

Hi Kent,

It sounds like you are making some manual changes made to the position of the iCues before you update a cue, thus updating the Focus Palletes.   By default, the console will update all referenced data in a cue, in addition to the cue itself, when you hit update and enter. 

For example -- if you have a moving light that is currently in Focus Palette 2, Color Palette 14, and Beam Palette 4, and you change the intensity, focus, color, or beam, then update the active cue, you will update the cue and any changed palettes. Anything that references FP2, CP14, or BP4 will play back with the new values. 

EDIT: Presets function in much the same way.

You can change this functionality on a case-by-case basis by pressing Make Absolute (S2, or in the Update window that pops up), or altering the default functionality by going to Setup -> Desk -> Record Defaults.

The syntax you've written above is to update all manual (red) values into the current cue.
- Hitting Enter completed the intensity command, so the [Update] command doesn't refer to it.

Basically, unless you specifically tell it otherwise an Update command will update all manual values, and as Hans said, by default this will update the references used in the cue.

There are also options when Updating to specify how far down the chain of references to update, given in the softkey and CIA areas.
- For example, one might want to update the source Preset but not the Palettes used in that Preset.

Finally, thanks for the summary of your lighting system, as that kind of information is indeed very useful when providing assistance. However, you did accidentally miss out the software version of the Eos, which would be very useful if you have further questions.
