RDM over DMX (no NET3 nodes)

RDM is not currently enabled on the DMX ports on the back of the Ion.
This feature will be added at a later date as it requires a firmware update for the I/O card.

At the moment you will need a Net3/ACN DMX Gateway to enable the RDM features of the Eos Family consoles, as mentioned in the manual.

Um....er.....maybe I shouldn't say anything...but...um... It is very possible to convert a NET2 2-port box into a Pathport box which does support RDM....or so I once heard from an old guy I met in a bar somewhere....

I should add that I have never tried to see if Pathport's RDM will actually work like it would with a NET3 node....

However - even though the Pathport 2-port nodes get the RDM "on to the network", they don't convert it to the ACN format that the console needs to be able to understand RDM. Only the Net3 gateways do that.

Hacronymus - you said "The venue only has Net2 Gateways" - that could mean a couple of things. If they have the "4 port DMX/RDM Gateway" devices, those can simply be switched into Net3 mode, you can turn on RDM, and it'll all work. If they have the older Net2 Nodes, you will be out of luck, sorry.
