hi all
Maybe i've overlooked it in the forum but:
When i execute a snapshot, it takes 5 or 6 seconds before ION is done.
is there any way I (or ETC) can speed this up (alot?)
Greetings

Mart, what software version are you using??
Thanks,

Hi Anne,
i'm using v1.9.0...
thanks
Mart
Well, they should be a bit faster when 1.9.5 is released, as there are some overall performance improvements. But we need to do some further optimizations in the future.
Thanks much!

Goodmorning Anne,
So there is nothing - I - can do to improve things? too bad.
Do u already have an overview of the 1.9.5 improvements?
And, is it recommended to Update while having a series of performances?
thanks for your time
Mart
You can help out somewhat by reducing the number of tabs that are open. Will be posting information on 1.9.5 in a short while... (still a bit too early). Yes, people use update constantly during performances..... other than the enter button, its probably the most used on the desk. Well, except for Go of course.
:-)

haha!
I meant Software-updates...
Yet i have to agree on what u wrote.
Thanks and have a nice Day

Mart, Anne
I have 2 Ions, both 1.9.1. (?) (1 behind the current)
I've noticed that on one console snapshots are quick ( or at least OK), but on the other, there is a noticable pause before the screen changes.
Typically, I don't have any tabs open, other than 1, 2. (cue list, channel screen, or a double page of channel list)
YMMV

Andrew,
Is one of your Ions your Primary and one a client? I've noticed that clients typically have a small lag (much much better with the latest sw, but still there). Also, is this categorically true of all of your snapshots or only ones that involve monitors?

My Ions are unrelated to each other. Both are primaries in their own venues. Each one doesn't know the other exists (kinda like having 2 girlfriends).
I have 3 snapshots, all include the monitors: That is their primary purpose (going from dual channel screens, to dual Q lists (1 list, running across 2 screens), and finally the standard split (1 Q list, 1 channel screen).
1 panel of DS are included in the snapshots.

Andrew did you buy your Ion's at different times? I thought I read/heard that the newer Ion's are faster than older ones (not sure what time frame distinguishes newer vs older) because some hardware upgrades were made along the way.
Both were bought at the same time, but one was replaced under warrenty in the first couple of months.
The slow one is SN ending 233. The replacement one was SN ending 165 (earlier than the one it replaced).
Talking to Matt at ETC tech support, he suggested Deep Clearing both machines and seeing if that changes anything.
I don't use snapshots alot. They are mainly for changing between operation modes (programming vs running Q'd shows).
