"Parked" channels/address not transfereing with the show file

Hey gang,

I just transfered a showfile from 1 console to another (EOS to Ion) and was suprised that the channels and addresses in "Park" did not transfer with the show file.  Is this a known thing (that I have missed) or should I have expected the "Park" items to transfer?

Thanks,

dave B.

  • Parked channels are not currently stored with the show file, by design. It was debated around v1.4 and the powers-that-be decided parked channels belong with the console, rather than the show. Since then there have been other discussions. I believe the current  thinking is to make parking of channels part of the show file but allow them to be optionally included during an 'open' action.

One workaround is to include a macro for parking/unparking channels in the show file.

  • Dave.... we originally included the park buffer in the file store/recall, but got a lot of pushback against that.  So, it was pulled out.... our intent in a near future build is to include the park buffer in the file save.  On a file open, we will not recall the buffer content by default, but provide a tile that allows you to include it when needed.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne,

Sounds great. As sk8rs_dad (thanks for the reply!) mentoned it was a discussion around 1.4 (I did not come onboard until after 1.7 was released), so I missed the discussion.  I figured it was me who just missed the fact that the info wasn't "supposed" to transfer.

My console transfer was to a loaner as our EOS is having issues of unexpected shutdowns (I am in discussion with Tech Support and R&D in Wisconsin).  It being the afternoon of opening night, I missed the fact that my parked values did not transfer and wanted to verify that it was me missing them (because they by current design do not transfer) and not a glitch in the process or my show file....

    Thanks again!
