X-keys update???

So it's been a while since anyone has posted regarding X-keys and using them with an RIV and Ion . .

before I shell out the money for this item .. have there been any updates?

where can I go to get the current working template for X-keys . .plus information on how to install everything to work with my RIV (and laptop). . .

are there still issues with firmware and resident memory mode . . will I have to pay extra to get the older firmware . . . or is all of this old news . . .

Thanks . . .

  • The thing to remember with the X-Keys is that all it does is repeat keyboard commands. The X-Keys pro is the best choice as you can almost map it 1-for-1 to the Ion keys. There are some differences with layout and it doesn't have the same amount of keys, so you have to choose what you use more frequently.

So the software you get from PI just lets you program the letters or shortcuts as you would use them in the Off Line Editor, then either the client or the console itself sees the X-Keys as a generic keyboard and works perfectly.

I have pre-programmed many shows with the X-keys on my laptop and it works great. I also used it for my on-stage RVI for focusing and patching and find it to be invaluable.
