Ion network problems

Hi

I am having some network problems with my Ion the last season we were running a multi console system  with my Ion and Eos. When we set it back up as a standalone console running ACN to a pathport it's network status is offline. If I put it back on the network with the Eos it goes online and works fine?????

  • Brett,

How is the Ion and pathport device connected?  The Ion really won't display that its offline unless it isn't connected on the network and/or launched into offline mode.  Since it works with the Eos, that means it has a working network adapter.

Are you sure your network is up and running?  Definitely check the network indicator lights at the Cat5 connection.  The console needs to be connected to the network before entering the application.  Additionally, I'd try rebooting it with it plugged into the network.

Also, as per usual network troubleshooting -- check your IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways to make sure they're all in the recommended ranges.  You can find it here:  http://community.etcconnect.com/wikis/products/knowledgebase-etc-network-ip-addresses.aspx

When the Ion is online with the Eos, what is its status?  (Primary, backup, or client?)  When you boot the Ion in a single-console system, do you boot it into Primary?

Apologies for the list of questions, and if they seem really basic -- it helps to have a background on how your system is set up to identify potential problem points, and rule out the simpler causes first.
