Using a Net2 Node With Eos Offline Editor

Hi,

I purchased a used Net2 Node to use with Eos offline editor to control the system at a small community theatre. When any fixture or dimmer is connected to the node, it operates correctly but all addresses flash on and off approximately every 10 seconds. If anyone knows a fix for this, please let me know.

  • The EOS offline software is not intended to be used for live control.  The flashing on and off is not a bug, it is ETC's way of keeping the offline software from being used "live".

  • Put another way,  Eos Off-Line is not a console, thus the nodes won't function as a DMX output

Eos Off-Line Editor is designed as a remote to an Eos and/or Ion console, as a networked device, or can be used truly Off-Line for editing functions when you are not at a real console.

Thus you need a console to get DMX anyplace.

And as head off at the pass, ETC never marketed Eos Off-Line as a PC based console that could generate DMX (or ACN) thru a node.  It has always, and only ever been a free software set available to speed up the design and tech. process.
