Record Only with Cue Only

As I understand running in Cue Only mode, if I record a new cue using <Record Only> I should only get the manual value in that cue and nothing should track in from a previous cue.  I'm not seeing that behavior.  I'm always getting the prior cue's values tracking in.

After typing this I realized that I haven't double checked to make sure no one has changed the mode of the console to Tracking on me, but I'm fairly sure they haven't.

  • Hey there.  Actually, no, that isn't the case.  You are right about the record only part.... it stores only manual data into the cue.... with one exception.  Eos is a tracking console.   Therefore, using record only will yield exactly the same result as a selective store.  If you enter (for example) channels 1 thru 5 record cue 10 - those channels are stored in cue 10 - and any other values from the previous cue will track in.   You will get the same result with a Record Only command.

The Cue Only setting simply determines how any modifications in the cue are to go forward through the cue list.  It doesn't impact how data comes INTO the cue list.  In other words, Cue Only has no impact at all what is actually stored in the target cue.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but you might consider appending rem dim to the record action.  This will set any intensities that would otherwise track into the cue to zero.

    Does that help at all?

  • Yes, it sounds like appending rem dim will work very nicely.

    Thanks for the quick response.
